“When I am weak, then am I strong”
No one catches fish every time they fish, that is why, my eight-year-old grandson Stephen explained to his siblings, “it is called fishing not catching!” The important things in life don’t always give immediate rewards, as a matter of fact often much is learned through defeat, struggle, issues, and conflict.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. God used the Apostle Paul, when things were not going as planned to learn much from the Lord. You too, can learn these simple principles in times of trial, times of difficulties, times of suffering. Consider what he did:
-Lean into the Lord-don’t run away, vv.7-8. Anyone can quit or run, why not get closer to God?
-Listen to the Lord-There is a message from God for you to hear v. 9. Are you tuned in to God?
-Learn from the Lord- God has power you have not tapped on v. 9B-10. Stretch yourself in this time to grow in the Lord, after all His Will is ideal right?
“When I am weak, then am I strong.”
