2 Timothy 3:1 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
The goodness of God allows the believer to follow the Lord in times like these. Mrs. Ruth Caye Jones (1902-1972) the mother of five children, married to a busy pastor, being an untrained musician, sat down one day and penned the words and music to a famous song. She had read in the newspaper that in the World War soldiers were facing unprecedented times, and she believed it was the end times as best as she could tell. The preacher’s wife said that it was not her goal to be a songwriter just a help to others when she put it on a paper in her apron. One day, after a few years after her song was published to sing in churches all across the country, she watched television broadcast of the Christian singer George Beverly Shea sing her song.
“In times like these you need a Savior
In times like these you need an anchor
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
This Rock is Jesus, Yes He’s the One
This Rock is Jesus, the only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
In times like these you need the Bible
In times like these, O be not idle
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
This Rock is Jesus, Yes He’s the One
This Rock is Jesus, the only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!” by Mrs. Ruth Caye Jones 1943
These are unusual times, but in times like these you need the Savior for guidance, for direction for encouragement. Oh what a Savior!
