The Next Step Sunday March 1, 2020

A LOOK BACK:
As you well know, “Buildings don’t change lives, but what happens in them, through the Grace of God can”. God has done it through His people, the building and grounds are paid for, it has been two years since we had to make a mortgage payment. Thank you for everyone who helped with the purchase of the property, the development of the property, the building of the church building and the pavilion. From 1990 to 2018 God moved in the congregation to accomplish a lot with a few willing believers. As the illustration on the page shows, the first step of Community Baptist Church has been completed, praise the Lord.
A LOOK AT THE PRESENT:
The classroom space, fellowship space, bathrooms and storage space are limited in our church because of the ministries God is building. Each Sunday some churches across the area operate without a vision, without congregations hungry for the Word, without an outlook of going forward for Christ. It is a shame. The Lord established His Church, as written in the New Testament for souls to be saved, baptized and those new disciples to be nurtured to grow into mature believers. Your church, Community Baptist Church of Lansing has the vision to go forward in God’s timing, just as He has led in the past. Since the inception of this local church, God has empowered His people to teach, preach and live His Word, the results are wonderful. Souls have been saved and lives are touched. The children’s ministries are growing, the local and international missionaries are being supported (fifteen ministries each month by faith), the adult ministries are growing in Christ with the Bible being taught several times each week. Workers are being trained to lead others through mentoring and instruction. Faith to go forward for God is found only through His Word, this church has been based on that Word and with only that Word the future is bright.
A LOOK FORWARD:
The Next Step is an event with a process. The event is this March 1, 2020. On this Sunday an offering or commitment to give through the next 52 weeks will be given to honor God for the future building. A special catered meal will be enjoyed by the church at noon and an informative Spirit led afternoon service at 1 pm will be hosted. To honor the Lord it is ideal for the church to collect offerings in advance of building, draw up plans that God directs, for a family center that would meet the future needs of the congregation and then prayerfully develop together as the Lord leads.
Would you plan on coming on this Sunday? Will you join us in prayer each day for the Lord to use this ministry for His glory? Would you contribute towards the event, The Next Step offering on that Sunday or throughout the year as the Lord provides? Would you consider including the church in your will and estate to help the cause of Christ in the future? Besides that, would you commit to contribute, to be part of the process giving each week so we may save up the money and build debt free?
The history is stellar: this isn’t the first step God has already took care of that investment. He gave His Son for the World; would you honor Him with your contribution? This opportunity is where you and I can leave a legacy, a place where years to come people can come and study God’s Word, worship God and fellowship together in a practical, comfortable facility.
