There are some great life changing truths learned through Adult Bible Studies! Sunday School still has great value! I know that sounds trite, but it is nonetheless true. You open His Book and “Bam” a morsel of Heavenly Manna falls on your lap.
Presently, our church at 9:45 AM on Sundays is concentrating on the book of Ruth in the adult Bible studies, with ladies meeting with my wife and men meeting with me. Our objective is to do an in depth, verses by verse study of God’s Word. The book of Ruth has been labeled “Ruth’s Romance of Redemption” in 1935 by Pastor Edward Boone in Grand Rapids and then again by M. R. DeHann.
So what is so intriguing about a little book, only four chapters long in the Bible? Well, it has doctrinal, historical and prophetic truths that bless your soul. Consider the truth of what Naomi did (Ruth 1:6,7) and the church has to do according to Simeon, “Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.” Acts 15:14. Did you catch it? Naomi desired God’s blessing, so she obeyed God and joined herself to the Lord’s people. Naomi needed to follow God, to be identified with God so she separated from “…the place where she was.” Are we someplace where we shouldn’t be in our spiritual or physical life? Boone wrote, “ It is because of this truth that twice-born men have no connection with the political or social realm and spirit of the world. They have been raising and made to sit together in Heavenly places. Their conversation and affections are above.”
Isn’t it time to be where God desires you to be? Why not return to the Lord even as the prodigal son of Luke 15? Remember this timeless truth “Often the darkest hour precedes the dawn.”-Evangelist Boone
