What a blessing to see the smile on children’s faces as they open Christmas presents. This year our church had the wonderful blessing of helping dozens of Children have a a Merry Christmas thanks to many in our church’s community bringing in presents, food, and monetary gifts. There were many wonderful stories of Children smiling and parents thanking our church family for its generosity. However, today we will share just one of those stories. There stood one of our workers in the home of someone who had requested help from our church for Christmas. The house was filled with happy children who were almost bouncing up and down at the thought of receiving Christmas presents and all the fixens for a Christmas turkey dinner. Each child said thank you for the gifts for which they would have to wait till Christmas for. The Mom spoke quietly to the worker and said thank you and your church; with her eyes turning a tad misty she said, “I had no gifts for them at all… and we had nothing for Christmas dinner… I was hoping to make our cereal stretch so we could have that for Christmas dinner.” That story has stuck with me. I can only think of how much I have been blessed in my life. Let us say a prayer for those in need lend a helping hand to those in need. Our Church has been a help to hundreds every year, but I can not think of a year where we have had more people in true need of help. Let us not turn a blind eye to those in need the Bible says James 1: 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction... So this Christmas let us not forget to say a prayer for those in need, Give out of our much to those in so much need, and support those charity’s like our Church who are on the front lines fighting despair, hunger, and hopelessness with the Love of God, a box of food, and some much needed Christmas Cheer!
It’s good to get a fresh way of looking at it.
